The Games
We have designed specific games which
provide an aerobic and anaerobic workout in addition to strengthening the
major muscle groups of the body. The games will also improve reaction time,
quickness, hand-eye coordination and concentration during competition.
The open court version is played on a
volleyball court, either indoor on a gym or field house floor or outside on
grass, sand, artificial turf or macadam. The game is played by two teams
with any number of players to a side. After the ball has been served, the
object of the game is to catch and throw the ball with two hands back to the
other side using any variation of throws and catches except for spikes.
The walled court version is played on
a racquet or wallyball court. Played with OOOF Jr. or a 3 lb. OOOF Ball,
this game is based on playing the ball off the walls. It can be fast and
furious, providing a great aerobic workout and is loads of fun.
So, the choice is clear... If you want
a ball that has no moving parts, needs no other pieces of equipment to
function other than your own body, is portable, is inexpensive compared to
other home gym systems, is very durable and has unique qualities, then
choose OOOF Ball!!

Why Should I Consider
Weight Ball Training?
Conditioning is a requirement for
reaching your full athletic potential in any sport. In addition to
stretching, weight training, aerobic and anaerobic exericise, weight ball
training helps the athlete acquire strength, endurance, explosive power,
flexibility and balance while focusing on staying fit and injury-free. The
weight ball is easily the most versatile and probably the single most
important training tool you can use. No other device works as many parts of
the body simultaneously. More than any other form of exercise, it
approximates the functional movements of sports such as baseball,
basketball, golf, tennis, volleyball, bowling and boxing.

What is Plyometric
Training and the OOOF Ball?
Speed + Strength = Explosive Power...
That's the concept behind plyometrics to improve fitness. Plyometrics
enhances your muscles' ability to respond quickly and powerfully. Stretch a
rubberband an inch and release it. Then stretch that same rubberband 6
inches and release it. You will notice there is more speed and force
generated.
Since the OOOF Ball excels at
developing torso for rotation and explosive power, it allows you to built
core strength first. Building core strength is crucial to functional arm and
leg strength. This strength originates from the trunk which includes back
and abdominal muscles.
OOOF Ball training mimics the body's
range of motion used in sports and everyday activities. It is very
functional because it provides weight resistance through all ranges of
movement. It does not limit or restrict the body's natural movements as
regular weight training does.
OOOF Ball adds a whole new dimension
in training because of its ability to bounce so well. It maximizes
explosive-reactive power. If you drop the OOOF Ball, it will bounce back
approximately 40%. If you exert maximum force by throwing the ball down or
bouncing it off a wall, it will rebound with greater force. Working with
OOOF Ball builds an increased level of anaerobic strength endurance needed
for the explosive movements in many sports.

What are some
OOOF Ball Training Tips?
(please consult your physician before
starting this or any other strenuous exercise program)
Stretching is imperative! Don't
stretch cold muscles. Always warm up thoroughly before your workouts,
stretch all muscles and then proceed with your program. This will increase
your range of motion, promote circulation and prevent injuries such as
muscle strains. A strong pre-stretched muscle resists stress better than a
strong unstretched muscle.
Always cool down and stretch after a
workout.
Always train within your capabilities.
There is no need to struggle with a 20 lb. medicine ball! Heavier is not
always better and is rarely even necessary. It may precipitate injury.
If you experience excessive pain or
injury during any exercise, discontinue the activity and seek medical
attention.
